Best Outdoor Roller Skate Wheels of 2026
We tested 12 wheels so you don't have to. Here are the top picks for every budget and skating style.
Outdoor wheels can make or break your skating experience. The wrong wheel on rough pavement means a jarring, exhausting ride. The right wheel? Pure glide.
We tested 12 different outdoor wheels over six weeks across a variety of surfaces — cracked sidewalks, smooth boardwalks, and everything in between.
Best overall: Moxi Gummy wheels (65mm, 78A). Incredibly smooth, great grip, and they last. Worth every penny at around $40 a set.
Best budget pick: Sure-Grip Boardwalk (65mm, 78A). Nearly as smooth as the Moxi at half the price. Great starter outdoor wheel.
Best for speed: Atom Pulse (80mm, 84A). If you're doing long-distance outdoor skating, the extra size and slightly harder durometer gives you more roll with less effort.
